The mission and purpose of the .bldg gTLD is to provide a concise, self-describing namespace for the building, construction and real-estate sector. "Bldg" is the universally recognised written abbreviation of "building", which makes the TLD immediately understandable and gives it two complementary uses: the companies that design, construct, manage and sell buildings, and the buildings themselves — properties, developments, complexes and facilities that benefit from a short, descriptive online address of their own.

When will .bldg be available?
ICANN has not set a date. The final list of applied-for strings comes on String Confirmation Day (November 17, 2026), community input and objections run until March 16, 2027, and ICANN processes applications after a prioritization draw in 2027. Registration opens only after ICANN delegates .bldg and its registry announces launch dates.
