What .class would mean

"Class" refers to a group of students taught together, a course of instruction, or a category of things sharing common characteristics or rank.
A class is a structured session or course where an instructor or platform delivers knowledge, skills, or training to learners. Classes may be held in person or online formats across educational, professional, recreational, and vocational settings.

".CLASS" is proposed as an open namespace for any individual, organization, or platform delivering structured, session-based instruction. Fitness studios, dance schools, martial arts academies, and group training operators represent natural registrant categories, as the scheduled class format is foundational to how physical instruction is organized and sold. The namespace extends equally to arts instruction, cooking classes, music lessons, photography workshops, academic tutoring, test preparation, and language programs. When will .class be available?
ICANN has not set a date. The final list of applied-for strings comes on String Confirmation Day (November 17, 2026), community input and objections run until March 16, 2027, and ICANN processes applications after a prioritization draw in 2027. Registration opens only after ICANN delegates .class and its registry announces launch dates.
