What .demo would mean

Demo commonly refers to a term with multiple commonly understood meanings depending on the context in which it is used. For example, it may refer to a demonstration of a product, or to a public demonstration expressing a political view.
A demo is a demonstration - a preview, sample, walkthrough, trial version, or recorded example showing how something works or what it can do.
"Demo" is a shortened form of "demonstration," meaning a practical showing or trial of how something works, performs, or looks, often to inform or persuade an audience.

When will .demo be available?
ICANN has not set a date. The final list of applied-for strings comes on String Confirmation Day (November 17, 2026), community input and objections run until March 16, 2027, and ICANN processes applications after a prioritization draw in 2027. Registration opens only after ICANN delegates .demo and its registry announces launch dates.
