Can you register a .faq domain?

What .faq would mean
In their own words, from the public part of each application (question 118):
"FAQ" stands for "frequently asked questions" — a compiled list of common questions and their answers about a product, service, or topic, typically used to help users find information quickly without needing direct support.
Who applied for .faq
Innovation Service Limited
SC, stage: Pre-Evaluation Processing
The mission and purpose of .faq is to give businesses, organizations, and support teams a namespace dedicated to hosting frequently asked questions, help content, and self-service support resources, signaling to users that a given domain provides quick, direct answers rather than general marketing or product content.

When will .faq be available?
ICANN has not set a date. The final list of applied-for strings comes on String Confirmation Day (November 17, 2026), community input and objections run until March 16, 2027, and ICANN processes applications after a prioritization draw in 2027. Registration opens only after ICANN delegates .faq and its registry announces launch dates.
