What .soul would mean
In their own words, from the public part of each application (question 118):
the principle of life, feeling, thought, and action in humans, regarded as a distinct entity separate from the body, and commonly held to be separable in existence from the body; the spiritual part of humans as distinct from the physical part.
"Soul" refers to the immaterial essence, animating principle, or inner spirit of a person, often regarded as the seat of emotion, character, and moral identity. It also denotes deep feeling or genuine emotional quality.

When will .soul be available?
ICANN has not set a date. The final list of applied-for strings comes on String Confirmation Day (November 17, 2026), community input and objections run until March 16, 2027, and ICANN processes applications after a prioritization draw in 2027. Registration opens only after ICANN delegates .soul and its registry announces launch dates.
