.art — should you use it?
Generic TLD · introduced 2017
The short answer
Elegant and adopted — museums, galleries, and NFT platforms all landed on .art. Rare new TLD with genuine prestige. Why it works
- Short, beautiful, self-describing
- Institutional adoption (museums, galleries)
- Strong in NFT/digital art world
Why it might not
- Art-world only
The longer take
One of the best-executed niche TLD launches. For artists, galleries, and art platforms, name.art is arguably better than the .com.
