How we make money
tld.expert is free and has no ads. When you buy a domain through some of our registrar links, the registrar may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. That never changes the order: registrars are ranked by first-year price plus the first renewal. Updated November 2, 2026.
Who pays us today
Dynadot and Spaceship pay us a share of what you spend when you buy after clicking one of our links. In our where-to-buy tables, their rows are marked Sponsored.
Namecheap, Porkbun, Name.com, Gandi and Cloudflare pay us nothing. We list them anyway, in the same order, whenever they are the better deal.
What a commission never changes
- The order. Registrars are sorted by what you pay over the first two years, the first-year price plus the first renewal, cheapest first. Cloudflare sells at cost but needs a Cloudflare account, so it comes after them.
- The price we show. It is one number everywhere on the site, the cheapest we found, with the renewal next to it, from price lists we re-check every day.
- Our verdicts. Renewal traps, hidden fees and the registrar checks on Registrars are written the same way for a registrar that pays us and one that doesn't.
How the links work
The address on every registrar link is the registrar's own page. Only when you click it do we swap in the tracked version, so search engines, link previews and bots never trigger a commission. We count those clicks in our analytics; see Privacy for what that includes.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no paid placement in any list or ranking.
- We never sell your data.
- We are not a registrar. You pay the registrar, not us.
