All TLDs / .pizza
.pizza — should you use it?
Generic TLD · introduced 2014
The short answer
The mascot of absurdly specific TLDs — and honestly great for an actual pizzeria. Why it works
- Unbeatable memorability in-category
- name.pizza is a complete marketing asset
Why it might not
- Useless outside pizza
- Costs more than .com, hilariously
The longer take
There are ~600 food-adjacent TLDs and .pizza is the one people remember. joes.pizza on a takeout box is better branding than joespizzany.com will ever be.
